Ducks right wing Patrick Eaves making strides in return from broken rib

WINNIPEG, Manitoba — Patrick Eaves didn’t make the trip with his Ducks teammates.

But it would seem to be only a matter of time before he’s sound enough to play again. The oft-injured right winger would could be the third in a line of returning players to their lineup, following defenseman Cam Fowler and Rickard Rakell last week.

Eaves’ return would leave the Ducks with only two injured players: goaltender Ryan Miller (sprained knee), right wing Corey Perry (knee surgery). Miller and Perry hadn’t resumed skating, as of Saturday, and it was uncertain when either would return to the ice.
