LOS ANGELES>> Deontay Wilder has been a monster in the ring, with a 98 percent knockout ratio. Tyson Fury has shown he can box with the best in the world.
When the two squared off Saturday for Wilder’s heavyweight championship, it stacked up as the classic boxer against puncher.
No one prevailed.
Behind on the scorecards, Wilder scored knockdowns in the ninth and 12th rounds and that was enough for him to retain his title via a split-draw at Staples Center.
Judge Alejandro Rochin gave it to Wilder 115-111, Robert Tapper had Fury winning 114-112 and Phil Edwards had it a 113-113 draw.
