Whicker: Qualifying for the Genesis Open brings its own pressures

CITY OF INDUSTRY — Richard H. Lee, 31, had a 20-foot birdie putt on the 11th hole of the Eisenhower Course at Industry Hills.

Miss it and go back to Scottsdale and await the next Web.com event.

Make it, and you get a chance at a chance.

Lee made it. Then Andrew Loupe missed his. Three of the six playoff participants for the final spot at this Monday qualifier, including UC Irvine alum David Kim, had been eliminated on No. 10. Loupe and Wes Roach were ousted on 11.
