BURBANK >> New teams and talent will shake up the Overwatch League, a professional esports league for the team-based multiplayer first-person shooter video game, in its second season, which begins on Feb. 14.
Eight expansion teams were officially introduced at an ‘Insider Preview’ event at the Blizzard Arena in Burbank on Feb. 8.
The change from 12 to 20 teams will bring new challenges and aspects to the league along with an influx of talent. It will also impact the schedule with all teams playing a 28-match schedule this season, down from 40 during the 2018 season.
