Lawsuit alleges USA Water Polo allowed Hojreh to continue coaching despite reports of sexual assault

An Orange County water polo coach continued to coach and allegedly sexually assault underage athletes for months after USA Water Polo, the sport’s Huntington Beach-based national governing body, received complaints of alleged sexual assaults by the coach’s club team, according to a document from a lawsuit obtained by the Southern California News Group.

Bahram Hojreh continued coaching at International Water Polo, a Los Alamitos-based USA Water Polo-sanctioned club, for six months after USA Water Polo and the organization’s regional association received allegations in July 2017 that club players were sexually assaulting players on other teams during games using “techniques” Hojreh taught [READ MORE HERE]
