Patriots QB Tom Brady had no trouble against Chargers’ defensive scheme

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The Chargers surprised the Baltimore Ravens by playing seven defensive backs for most of last week’s AFC wild-card playoff game.

Chargers defensive coordinator Gus Bradley didn’t cook up anything out of the ordinary against the New England Patriots for Sunday’s divisional-round playoff game.

The Chargers started with a zone defense, a coverage that Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has seen for years. Brady gladly took what the defense gave him, and had no trouble beating the covered areas. The Patriots’ first four drives ended with touchdowns, as they cruised to a 41-28 win to advance to the AFC Championship game.
