Clubhouses of the Boys and Girls Club of Central Orange Coast should be able to provide programs for more children by the fall, thanks to $5 million in renovations planned this summer.

Facilities will get learning labs with laptops and tablets, as well as a “maker studio” with 3-D printers and an art wall. The gyms at the Newport Beach and Costa Mesa clubs will also get new floors, bleachers and other upgrades, the organization’s CEO Robert Santana said. A teen space is being enlarged in Santa Ana.
