LOS ANGELES — USC forward Bennie Boatwright, on the heels of two injury-plagued seasons, found some inspiration when he caught highlights of Derrick Rose’s 50-point performance on Halloween night.
Rose, the NBA veteran point guard who was once the league’s youngest MVP, had suffered from knee injuries in recent years, including an ACL and two meniscus surgeries.
“People would say he’s not going to come back,” Boatwright said. “He’s had surgeries, got waived. Came back and had 50. It can be done as long as you keep your confidence. I keep the confidence in myself that I can do anything.”
