UCLA QB Wilton Speight to start against Arizona State

TEMPE, Ariz. — Although Chip Kelly said Wednesday that freshman Dorian Thompson-Robinson was fully cleared from a shoulder injury, grad transfer Wilton Speight regained the starting quarterback spot against Arizona State on Saturday.

Speight came off the bench for the injured freshman against Oregon and threw for 147 yards and one touchdown on 13-of-25 passing. Thompson-Robinson originally sustained the injury against Arizona on Oct. 20. He sat out the following week against Utah while Speight struggled, throwing for 164 yards and two interceptions while completing just 50 percent of his passes.
