‘Shelter in place’ order lifted at Pepperdine after Woolsey fire flames on campus extinguished

By Susan Christian Goulding

Parents are reporting on a Pepperdine University Facebook page that the “shelter in place” measure, put into effect when flames reached nearby hillsides, has been lifted.

A parent wrote that she received a telephone message from the university saying that students are now “free to move about campus.”

“Flames on hillside were extinguished,” she wrote. “Thank goodness!!”

“Students are allowed to go back to dorm,” another parent said. “We will know by 3 p.m. today if classes will resume on Monday.”
