Election 2018: La Habra and Fullerton mayors, Tim Shaw and Doug Chaffee, battle for inland Orange County Board of Supervisors’ seat

Voters will decide Tuesday whether the Orange County Board of Supervisors remains all Republican or whether it will get its first Democratic member in a dozen years.

Two mayors – La Habra’s Tim Shaw, a Republican, and Fullerton’s Doug Chaffee, a Democrat – are competing for the county’s northeast 4th District seat that’s being vacated by termed-out Supervisor Shawn Nelson.

The 4th District spans Fullerton, La Habra, Brea, Placentia, and parts of Anaheim and Buena Park.
