LAS VEGAS — Six months after knee surgery, it’s clear Tony Ferguson is back.
“El Cucuy” weathered a knockdown at the beginning of the second round before throwing everything at former lightweight champion Anthony Pettis, whose corner stopped the fight after the second round Saturday in the UFC 229 co-main event at T-Mobile Arena.
Pettis said in his postfight interview that he broke his hand, which was the reason for the fight being stopped.
In fairness, it wouldn’t have been surprising if his corner stopped it because of the damage the second-ranked former interim 155-pound champion inflicted.
