Santa Margarita girls, Northwood boys lead O.C. fleet for state swimming meet

Santa Margarita’s girls and Northwood’s boys, fresh of winning titles last weekend in Riverside, will be full-strength contenders this weekend in Fresno for the CIF State Swimming and Diving Championships.

The two-day meet kicks off Friday at Clovis West with boys diving at 8:30 a.m. and the swimming prelims at 2:30 p.m. Esperanza diver Noah Kanan the county’s highest-seeded male diver in the meet.

On Saturday, the girls diving meet at 8:30 a.m. sets the stage for the 2:30 championship finals.

El Toro junior diver Savannah Stocker is the county’s top-qualified diver.
