Man arrested on suspicion of attempted rape in Tustin

A 28-year-old man is under arrest on suspicion of attempted rape, sexual assault and kidnapping after he allegedly attacked a woman walking along Mitchell Avenue in Tustin, May 12, authorities said.

Detectives with the Tustin Police Department identified the suspect through surveillance and a canvas of the area. They linked the suspect to the crime through DNA evidence found at the scene, Lt. Robert Wright said in a release.

Norman Ibarra of Tustin was arrested Thursday, Wright said.
