At the risk of aging myself, one of my earliest and fondest memories of football was watching Billy “White Shoes” Johnson return kickoffs.
If you were an NFL fan in 1970s, you know who – and what – I’m talking about. Johnson was just over 5 foot 9 and a buck-fifty dripping wet. And at a time when the whole league was wearing black cleats, he was decked out in screaming loud white ones that made him stand out like a 50-foot-high big screen on the Vegas Strip.
