Former USC running backs coach Todd McNair’s long-running defamation lawsuit against the NCAA will begin trial Wednesday in Los Angeles Superior Court.
McNair sued the NCAA almost seven years ago, seeking damages for libel, slander and breach of contract in the aftermath of sanctions levied against him and the Trojans’ football program.
The case is a final remnant of the sanctions era.
The penalties in 2010, considered among the most severe in college sports history, followed the extra-benefits investigation involving star running back Reggie Bush and included a two-year postseason ban and the loss of 30 scholarships over three years on the Trojans [READ MORE HERE]
