Swim: Tesoro boys sprint past CIF champion Dana Hills

Michael Brinegar captured the 200- and 500-yard freestyles and Quinn Neamand claimed the 200 individual medley and 100 backstroke to lead Tesoro’s boys swimming team past defending CIF-SS Division 1 champion and visiting Dana Hills, 107-63, in the South Coast League opener for each team Tuesday.

Brinegar stopped the clock in 1 minute, 45.05 seconds in the 200 free and in 4:45.29 in the 500.

Dana Hills’ Ryan Abdollahi challenged the Indiana-bound senior in the 500 free, finishing just over a second off Brinegar’s pace with a 4:46.45.

Neamand touched in 1:56.69 in the 200 IM and 52.76 in the backstroke.
