Understand that this review is based only on the beef nachos. The service and the staff are wonderful, and we hope that when we go back and try other dishes, we will find out this restaurant is as wonderful as we suspect it is.
That said, the beef nachos were nothing to write home about. We’ve had nachos at many restaurants – they are one of our favorites. Normally when you order beef, it is cut into small chunks. These nachos were made with stringy beef (could have been pork) that more-resembled pulled pork. The chips, which quickly became limp from the beef, were way too small to be used for nachos. The beef really had no flavor, a well as the beans, and I found myself liberally salting the whole mix.
We finished about a third of the plate, and asked for the check. We actually ended up going down the street to Costa Azul, which is our favorite, and had the nachos with Asada, and we’re really happy, as usual.
I hope this restaurant improves on our favorite dish, because it is close to our office and the staff is great!
