Dr. Jim Garrow: The Election Field – Rib Eye or Sirloin Tip?

It might be very early to conjecture about the pairings of the GOP contenders in the final race but it certainly provides us with a rich field of candidates to play with. The “business” pairing would be Trump – Fiorino, a Trump – Cruz pairing would be the “plain speaking” duo, and could even be the Cruz – Trump ticket. Huckabee has much to offer as a former Governor and plain talker, as does Jindal. Pitaki and Kasitch have experience but are they conservatives? Carson is a smart dude and adds color and smoothness to the field. But I have probably said enough to tick everyone off so I will say no more although some favourites have not been commented on yet. I’ll save that for another time. What we need is strength, conviction based in principles from the Founding Fathers and the Bible, and a track record for doing what they have promised. And that friends is why I led off this little missive with the folks that I did. I, like you, have not made up my mind but you can see who is impressing me at the moment. We can be encouraged in knowing that we will get Gods choice for us, whether that be in judgement of us for our national sins or in order that His plan unfolds as it should.

If you do not participate in the discussions during this time and do not exercise your franchise to vote, then you really have no right to complain about the results. I believe that we arrived at the state we are in today because Christians did not stand up when they could have and allowed sentiment to take precedence over Biblical principle. Let us not make that mistake again. Ask God to show you the questions to ask and ultimately to guide your hand in the vote that you render. May He bless America and forgive us our trespasses as a Nation.
